Represen-
tation at the Oscars

Information Design, UI/UX Design

Project Objective
Research and design an informational graphic that translates from a full reveal format (a 22 inch by 34 inch poster) to a partial reveal (digital experience).

Concept
In its 90 year history, the Academy Awards has recognized filmmaking excellence—historically from white men and women. Here is a look at 20 years of Oscar nominees and how the representation of men and women of colour, those of different ability, gender identity, and sexual orientation, needs to continue to improve.

Design
The poster offers a quick visual indication of the underrepresented populations with contrasting colors and symbols. It is accompanied by a fully animated digital interface, packaged as a media press kit that can be easily shared as a web link. View the full infographic here.
